YOURS Truly is off to one of the most enjoyable events on the arts calendar this weekend – the annual Adelaide Cabaret Festival. Headiners this year include Kristin Chenoweth, Idina Menzel, the Gold Coast-bound Molly Ringwald, Tom Burlinson, Bernadette Robinson and Meow Meow. The always elegant Adelaide Festival Centre will host some of the best and freshest live entertainment on offer.

OUR spies in the opening-night audience for A Clockwork Orange, in the Cremorne Theatre, at QPAC, report: ‘‘The show was stylish, explicit, realistic, violent, sexual and relentless. The play is a journey of depravity, incarceration, retribution, intervention and redemption. It was confronting, exhausting, moving and superb! Modern English theatre at its best. A very well executed and stunning production!’’ Well worth the trip up the M1, the season continues until Saturday.

Wayne Scott Kermond brings his one-man show to the Gold Coast next weekend.
