The Internship

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughan reteam as a couple of downsized chancers in their mid-40s competing with Generation Y for an internship at search giant Google. Generational laughs ensue as they prove themselves inept with technology and 21st century social cues. (Report, Page 12.) They say: Critics were split: some were happy with the film’s easy-does-it approach and likable leads; others wanted more from the pedestrian script, viewed as a free advert for Google. Wesay: Directed by Shawn Levy ( Real Steel), this is not particularly memorable, but a decent enough big-screen comedy that just – and we mean just – scrapes by as an acceptable Friday night selection. Running time 119 minutes. Screens at Harbour Town, Nerang, Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, Robina, Coolangatta, Tweed City.
