Story of her life

SNEZANA ‘‘Snez’’ Dalceska uses her lyrics as a means to send her message to the world. The Blue Mountains-based songstress believes no matter where you are in life, you should follow your bliss. That’s the message Snez wants to spread as far and wide as possible. ‘‘If you have some kind of dream or aspiration, go for it,’’ she says. ‘‘It doesn’t matter if there is success at the end of it. It’s about enjoying the journey.’’ Snez says while she got into the music industry ‘‘a little late in life’’, she is finally living her dream. ‘‘It’s taken a long time but I’m here. The fact I am living it is a success in itself,’’ she says. Snez released her second album 8 Lives Left to Lose late last year and says it features a mixture of intense ballads and softer love songs. ‘‘I don’t shy away from intense topics like lost love,’’ she says. ‘‘My songs are a personal experience. I take a lot of time on lyrics and melodies.’’ Snez co-writes and plays live with guitarist Stewart Peters. She says the duo’s live show is very intimate and full of acoustic-folk-pop melodies. ‘‘I like to play a lot of in-depth songs so it can be quite raw at times,’’ she says. ‘‘I want people to take a piece of me with them. While (the show) is in-depth, it can also be up tempo. It’s my mission to connect with my audience.’’
