Su­per­man cel­e­brates his 75th an­niver­sary with an amped-up, big screen ad­ven­ture, de­liv­ered by a new creative team in­clud­ing di­rec­tor Zack Sny­der ( Watch­men) and the writ­ers and pro­duc­ers of The Dark Knight tril­ogy. Stars Bri­tish ac­tor Henry Cav­ill in the blue suit. They say: The lack of hu­mour and some­time over­whelm­ing ac­tion quo­tient bugged some crit­ics, but au­di­ences have lapped up Man of Steel, driv­ing the film to record-set­ting box of­fice takes around the world. Also stars Rus­sell Crowe as Su­per­man’s Kryp­to­nian fa­ther. Wesay: A some­times rous­ing, some­times hum­bling spec­ta­cle that could do with some cheer­ing up.
