A chance to seize the day
Gold Coaster Shannon has many passions and talents, writes
confides Richardson, an avid consumer of news and current affairs.
Richardson cannot reveal how far she progressed in Australia’s Next Top Model, but confirms keeping the reason for her disappearance from the Gold Coast a secret was tough. So much so, she has developed a strategy for dealing with questions from friends and acquaintances.
‘‘People do ask who won or how I went and I just say I wouldn’t spoil the fun they have watching the show,’’ she laughs.
Only her closest family members and boyfriend, Luke, knew where she was.
‘‘To be honest I sort of slipped away without really explaining to anyone.’’
Richardson is the sole Gold Coaster who survives to compete in the series.
Top 50 running mate Emily McCabe, 18, of Benowa, was eliminated at the Sydney boot camp.
The exit aired at the end of the first episode on Tuesday.
‘‘One of the best things about all of this was meeting Emily,’’ says Richardson.
‘‘We flew down together and just hit it off. We’ve become good friends.
‘‘And the best thing is she lives just 20 minutes away from me, so we can still catch up.’’
Australia’s Next Top Model returns with newlywed Jennifer Hawkins as host and model and DJ Didier Cohen joining as a judge alongside regulars Charlotte Dawson and Alex Perry.
Australia’s Next Top Model: Tuesdays, 7.30pm, Fox8; replays Wednesday to Friday and Sunday.
