Bakers take large slice of audience
CHANNEL 9’s first foray into reality cooking shows The Great Australian Bake Off has risen to the occasion of its debut. The show, filmed in the gardens of Werribee Mansion, Victoria and based on a British format, drew 1.119 million viewers to rank No. 5 in the viewer Top 10. Nine’s The Block Sky High ranked No. 1. Channel 10’s Under The Dome had 1.015 million, ranking seventh and Seven had Home and Away (923,000) ranked eighth. Channel 7’s The Mole, returning after an eight-year break launched last Tuesday with 864,000 viewers and has been losing losing viewers. The latest episode on Tuesday, the first of three episodes for the week drew 555,000 viewers and ranked 20th overall. It was beaten by afternoon game shows Deal Or No Deal (597,000) and Hot Seat (753,000) and may be responsible for lower than usual ratings for Winners & Losers, which returned to rank 11th for the week. Ten’s MasterChef (773,000) finished 12th.
