Quinn Band, an eightpiece group hailing from sunny south-east Queensland. Guitarist and vocalist Quinn McHugh helms the band which is fast developing a reputation for grooves inspired by vintage reggae, dub, the New Zealand and Pacific sound, Jamaica and folk-infused Aussie acoustic reggae. He is joined by Lawrence Gambale on bass, Scott Nosworthy on drums, Garry Lynch on keys, Adam Owens on sax, Tobias Carter on guitar, Nicky Perry on percussion and backing vocals and Fiona Wright on backing vocals. ‘‘We’re inspired by other music, all kinds of arts, family, love, spectacular views, good feelings and more,’’ says McHugh. ‘‘Our music is identifiably Aussie and is created by all of us.’’ The band’s influences include Bob Marley & The Wailers, Ben Harper, The Red Eyes, Katchafire, The Beautiful Girls, Sublime, John Butler Trio, Bernard Fanning and more. ‘‘We appeal to a wide cross-section of people. We have energy, we have a good time on stage, and we deliver good music,’’ says McHugh. Quinn Band are touring a self-titled EP.
