X Factor lands on Coast as AGT premieres
FAVOURITE stars from The X Factor head to the Gold Coast this weekend to perform live for fans as the battle of the TV talent series hits full swing.
Five early favourites in Seven’s ratings hit – Gold Coasters Will Perrett, JTR and Dami and Sydney’s Barry Southgate and Joelle – will perform live at Robina Town Centre on Saturday from midday.
They’ll also head over to Metricon Stadium, at Carrara, for a special performance as part of the entertainment program for the Gold Coast Suns v Melbourne Demons game.
Perrett, 16, from Nerang, has two brothers who play for the Sydney Bulldogs, but for the aspiring singer, making music rates more highly than scoring a try.
‘‘I never wanted to be in football, never ever. Never have I woken up and thought I want to do that,’’ says Perrett, who aced his The X Factor audition singing John Farnham’s Burn For You.
New recruits Dannii Minogue and LMFAO frontman Redfoo have joined singers Ronan Keating and Natalie Bassingthwaighte on the judging panel, replacing the seats formerly occupied by Mel B (aka Scary Spice) and local singer Guy Sebastian.
This week, the judges put the contestants through Super Boot Camp to decide who will make it through to the Top 24.
The X Factor contestants play Robina Town Centre on Saturday at midday. The X Factor: Sundays, 6.30pm; Monday and Tuesday 7.30pm; Seven, Prime7.
