GRETEL Scarlett will join the rollcall of celebrity guests at The Greenroom Project on August 19. Scarlett stars as Sandy in the new national touring production of hit stage musical Grease (report, left), which opens in Brisbane later this month. Rockhamptonreared Scarlett, who has five brothers, studied musical theatre at Western Australia’s Academy of Performing Arts. After small but intrinsic parts in shows such as Breast Wishes and Mamma Mia!, Scarlett was cast in the ensemble for Wicked and understudied the lead role of Elphaba. She stayed with the Australian company for the Wicked tour to Asia, before auditioning for Grease. Scarlett joins The Greenroom Project host Matthew Ward and renowned theatrical agent Barbara Leane to mentor the show’s five young feature artists on August 19 ahead of their performances. With interviews, industry insight/gossip, live performances and an open-mic segment – all accompanied by outstanding musical director Brad Rush on piano – The Greenroom Project is the best Monday night out in town!
The Greenroom Project plays The Basement, at The Arts Centre Gold Coast, on August 19 from 6.30pm. Visit theartscentregc.com.au or call 5588 4000 to book.
