Kick-ass 2

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - MOVIES -

Lo-fi superhero Kick-Ass – first the subject of a blockbuster comic series then a cult 2010 film – returns to bumble through a second round of violent misadventures. Jim Carrey joins the cast as an eager-beaver crimefighter inspired by Kick-Ass. Directed by Jeff Wadlow ( Never Back Down). They say: Most US reviewers sorely missed the original film’s cheeky wit and inventive style, writing off the sequel as a nasty rehash missing exactly the elements that made its predecessor sing. (Report, Page 9.) Wesay: Devotees of the first film may as well go along for the ride, but it’s hard not to be disappointed seeing such a promising premise sold short. Running time 103 minutes. Screens at Pacific Fair, Australia Fair, Robina, Coolangatta, Harbour Town, Tweed City, Nerang, Yatala Drive-in.
