Disney’s Demi Lovato sings out for Glee role
SINGER Demi Lovato (pictured) is set to join Glee for a guest spot in the show’s upcoming season, according to US reports. The X Factor judge will reportedly play Dani, a friend of Lea Michele’s character, and one that would have significant interaction and several musical numbers together with Adam Lambert’s incoming character, according to TVLine.com. Reports suggest Lovato will appear in six episodes, beginning with the second part of Glee’s planned Beatles’ tribute show. The Glee gig marks the singer’s first acting role since her Disney Channel series Sonny with a Chance went off the air two years ago. In other Glee news, star Jane Lynch says Cory Monteith’s death has brought the cast closer together. Monteith’s Glee co-stars, including girlfriend Michele, are still in mourning following his death last month. But Lynch admits the shared grief has made them a very closeknit unit. ‘‘Everyone has gotten really close. We had a great memorial, we had a very private memorial with just the cast and the crew . . . a fitting tribute to such a wonderful guy. I think that really helped us to start working on this season,’’ Lynch tells US magazine Life & Style. ‘‘We miss him very much and there’s a big empty trailer that we walk by every day. It’s sad, but the wheels keep turning and you just do your job,’’ she says.
