Ellie: Ronan wrong to blame mentor Redfoo

THE X Factor’s eliminated singer Ellie Lovegrove says Ronan Keating was wrong to say she was not mentored properly by Redfoo. Lovegrove was eliminated this week after a sing-off with Logan boy band JTR but it was Keating’s comments ahead of the decision which stuck in her mind. The Irish crooner said Redfoo and JTR coach Natalie Bassingthwaighte must not be teaching their singers properly because they had waited until the fourth final to show their best. Lovegrove says Redfoo formed a close bond with his three under-24 female singers and she had received great guidance. The Adelaide 19-year-old suspects Keating was trying to rattle the LMFAO lead singer with his off-the-cuff comment. ‘‘I think some of the things the judges say might be strategic, they say things to shake the other judges and they are always having a dig at each other,’’ says Lovegrove. Unlike many contestants who leave The X Factor, Lovegrove has no plans to rush into a recording studio and pump out an EP or an album. Instead, will take time out in her home town, write music and return to mentoring children.
