Motels cancel tour Down Under
MARTHA Davis and The Motels have postponed their Australian and New Zealand tour citing ‘‘reasons beyond our control’’. Davis has postponed the 14 dates Down Under – including a Gold Coast show at Twin Towns on November 15 – less than two months after announcing her first tour outside of the US in six years. The singer was expected to kick off the month-long tour with the latest incarnation of the band in Newcastle on November 13, before wrapping up in Perth on December 4. ‘‘We apologise from the bottom of our hearts for any disappointment this may have caused our dedicated fans,’’ Davis (pictured) says in a statement on her website. ‘‘I know it’s not only disappointing to hear of the cancellation of our shows, but for the plans you made to unite with us on the tour. Please know that we look forward to announcing new dates as soon as possible and appreciate the warm support of all our the fans in Australia and New Zealand.’’ Ticket holders can obtain refunds from point of purchase.
