LAUGHTER returns to Jupiters Theatre next month when popular Australian comics visit the Gold Coast for the second instalment of the Laugh Your Pants Off comedy show.

Wil Anderson, Peter Helliar, Dave Thornton and Hannah Gadsby head the line-up with local laughs supplied by Damian Power, Stephen Head, Lindsay Webb and Ellen Briggs.

The first Laugh Your Pants Off brought Dave Hughes, Cal Wilson, Colin Lane and Mikey Robins to Jupiters Theatre in June.

Jupiters Hotel and Casino managing director Aaron Gomes said the success of the first event demonstrated that Gold Coasters loved to share a laugh.

‘‘We’ve had people eagerly asking when the next one is and who would be performing,’’ he says.

‘‘To make sure the second Laugh Your Pants Off lives up to expectations, we wanted to wait until we could secure a strong line-up of acts that would showcase some of the best names in comedy.’’

Anderson’s densely written, highspeed stand-up brings together politics, pop and the banal. The Los Angelesbased Anderson, who performs live in London, Edinburgh, Ireland, Montreal and Los Angeles, comes home each year to host the ABC TV’s The Gruen Transfer and spinoffs that include Gruen Nation, Gruen Sweat and Gruen Planet.

Helliar got his big break as part of the Logie Award winning team Channel 10’s Rove and moved on to footy shows After the Game and Before the Game. He has released his own feature film, I Love You Too, his own rom-com series Date Night and hosted radio shows.

Thornton, has appeared on TV shows Good News Week, The Circle and Talkin’ ’Bout Your Generation is on the national radio show, Mamamia Today and currently appears on Channel 10’s panel show This Week Live, a weekly look at the world through the eyes of some of Australia’s best comedians.

Gadsby is best known for her droll delivery, delightful wordplay and heart- breakingly funny, self-deprecating observations. She has performed at comedy festivals around the world and on ABC TV’s Adam Hills Tonight.

Laugh Your Pants Off plays Jupiters Theatre on November 8. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. Go to tick
