‘Doctor’ Bilson clueless when it comes to medical advice

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - TELEVISION -

RACHEL Bilson (pictured) thinks it’s hilarious people ask her for medical advice because she plays a TV doctor. The US actress, 32, plays protagonist Dr Zoe Hart in US TV show Hart of Dixie and she’s always amused when fans and friends take her role a little too seriously. ‘‘People ask me for medical advice sometimes, which is always interesting. They’re like, ‘Hey, well you play a doctor.’ Even if they’re joking they kind of think I might know something because I have to pretend to do it,’’ she tells E! News. Bilson admits she does have a good time acting like she knows what she’s talking about. ‘‘It’s pretty fun to pretend to be a doctor, because then you think you know what you’re talking about and you throw out these really big words that are medical terms that you really don’t know what you’re saying – but you sound very impressive.’’ There is one skill, however, Bilson has learned to master. The star can now stitch a wound, although she wouldn’t volunteer herself to perform the procedure.

Hart of Dixie: Mondays, 7.30pm, Fox8; encores Tuesdays, Sundays.
