HE’S back be­hind the news desk, he’s kind of a big deal – and Ron Bur­gundy is also com­ing Down Un­der. An­chor­man 2 has fi­nally been given an Aus­tralian re­lease date and Bur­gundy, aka Will Fer­rell (pic­tured), will ap­pear at its Aus­tralian pre­miere on Novem­ber 24 at Hoyts, Syd­ney. He won’t be alone. Ac­com­pa­ny­ing the hap­haz­ard news­reader are fel­low stars Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koech­ner and di­rec­tor Adam McKay. In An­chor­man 2: The Leg­end Con­tin­ues, the mous­ta­chioed news­reader has left the 1970s be­hind and, along with his crack­pot team, is tak­ing on the chal­lenge of fronting Amer­ica’s first 24-hour news chan­nel. Fans of the orig­i­nal An­chor­man film, which was re­leased in 2004, will be pleased to hear Bur­gundy’s co-an­chor and wife, Veron­ica Corn­ing­stone (Christina Ap­ple­gate) is back for the sec­ond in­stal­ment. So is weath­er­man Brick Tam­land (Steve Carell), man on the street Brian Fan­tana (Paul Rudd) and sports guy Champ Kind (David Koech­ner). It’s the news we’ve all been wait­ing for.

An­chor­man 2: The Leg­end Con­tin­ues opens on De­cem­ber 19.
