Getting fooled by Full House

The Gold Coast Bulletin - Play Magazine - - TELEVISION -

FANS of 1990s sitcom Full House have been victims of an elaborate joke. The show’s executive producer Jeff Franklin was reported as having had talks with Warner Bros about bringing back the show which turned the Olsen twins into stars. Trouble is the alleged report was made by Rhode Island newspaper the Newport Gazette. The ‘‘original article’’ was published on entertainment site Screenrant.com as an April Fools’ Day joke earlier this year. The Gazette has actually been out of commission since 1799. A Screenrant.com representative has now taken to Twitter to clear up the rumour: ‘‘Someone picked that up as legit (legitimate) news? Last year, a few broadcast sites even picked up the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles April Fools’ post.’’
