A cel­e­bra­tion of Gold Coast mu­sic, art, food and cul­ture, the Surfers Par­adise Fes­ti­val is here again to en­ter­tain, in­trigue, dazzle and de­light

Wed­nes­day marks the launch of the fifth an­nual Surfers Par­adise Fes­ti­val with a street pa­rade and thrilling beach­front fire­works dis­play.

The pro­ces­sion of move­ment, rhythm and colour fea­tures paper lanterns, cul­tural cos­tumes, march­ing bands and ac­ro­bats.

The pa­rade starts at 6.30pm and winds its way through the streets of Surfers Par­adise, end­ing at the Surfers fore­shore for a fire­works dis­play.

Surfers Par­adise Fes­ti­val is a cel­e­bra­tion of Gold Coast mu­sic, art, food and cul­ture. Staged across four week­ends, end­ing April 26, it will show­case emerg­ing, na­tional and in­ter­na­tional talent

High­lights in­clude the Launch It beach con­cert se­ries staged over April 4-6.

Fri­day’s gig fea­tures Bombs Away, Chardy, Mobin Mas­ter, Tate Strauss and Orkestrated. Satur­day’s Aussie rock leg­ends gigs fea­tures The An­gels with Dave Glee­son, Jon Stevens and Daryl Braithwaite.

Sun­day’s noon to 6pm show fea­tures fi­nal­ists from the ABC’s Ex­humed se­ries – Aunty Hu Hu, Bec and the Big River Trio, Did­dly Squat, Glit­ter Gang, Jah­si­fik, John John­son and the John­sons.

Other high­lights in­clude the Aus­tralian street en­ter­tain­ment cham­pi­onships from April 18 to 21 and Sea Fire, a com­pet­i­tive fire­works dis­play from Queens­land’s best crews on April 25. And the One Way Street Party will be held at Neal Shannon Park, Surfers on April 26. Surfers Par­adise Fes­ti­val plays var­i­ous venues from April 2-26.
