A celebration of Gold Coast music, art, food and culture, the Surfers Paradise Festival is here again to entertain, intrigue, dazzle and delight
Wednesday marks the launch of the fifth annual Surfers Paradise Festival with a street parade and thrilling beachfront fireworks display.
The procession of movement, rhythm and colour features paper lanterns, cultural costumes, marching bands and acrobats.
The parade starts at 6.30pm and winds its way through the streets of Surfers Paradise, ending at the Surfers foreshore for a fireworks display.

Highlights include the Launch It beach concert series staged over April 4-6.
Friday’s gig features Bombs Away, Chardy, Mobin Master, Tate Strauss and Orkestrated. Saturday’s Aussie rock legends gigs features The Angels with Dave Gleeson, Jon Stevens and Daryl Braithwaite.
Sunday’s noon to 6pm show features finalists from the ABC’s Exhumed series – Aunty Hu Hu, Bec and the Big River Trio, Diddly Squat, Glitter Gang, Jahsifik, John Johnson and the Johnsons.
Other highlights include the Australian street entertainment championships from April 18 to 21 and Sea Fire, a competitive fireworks display from Queensland’s best crews on April 25. And the One Way Street Party will be held at Neal Shannon Park, Surfers on April 26. Surfers Paradise Festival plays various venues from April 2-26.
