MASON TAKES AUDIENCE ON A WILD RIDE

Born and bred on the Gold Coast, Mason Rack was raised on jazz, rock and surfing.

The rocker started playing percussion at the age of six with his musician father.

Progressing to drums, Mason was able to play any style of music from a young age.

Not afraid to break all the musical genre rules, his latest album Limits of Grip combines a classic mix of heavy rock, blues, jazz and roots.

“To be successful as an artist, you have to have gratitude, humility and manners,’’ says Mason.

Joined by Aram Anson on drums and Michael “Blacky” Cole on bass, the trio of talented musicians erupt in a high-energy performance.

Having played thousands of live shows, Mason has done eight international tours. He has used music as a passport to travel to places such as Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Japan and Vanuatu.

Influenced by the likes of Tom Waits, Muddy Waters and Ben Harper, Mason’s guitar chops and lively shows are recognised Australia-wide.

“I just want to bring the best, meanest, rockin’, swampy, smoky music to my audience,’’ says Mason.

“It is a show, more than just the music, it’s a visual experience too.’’ Mason Rack Band play Southport Sharks tomorrow night.
