With a brutal 14hour day filming schedule, it’s lucky Julia Morris has a real life house husband of her own to help hold the fort.

The stand-up comedian’s hubby Dan took on the role of “uber dad” to the couple’s two daughters during the six month back-to-back filming schedule which wrapped up late last month.

Which was fortunate, as Julia was kept busy welcoming our Gold Coast hottie Lincoln Lewis, who will play Ned the mysterious newcomer with a shady past.

“It’s brought so much joy to my marrow to be involved with the royal prince,” Julia says.

“I have launched myself at him like some grossly inappropriate snow leopard.

“He kindly absorbed my advances and sweetly lets me down.

“He is one of the planet’s more beautiful people – and the looks are the least of his qualities.

“The highlight of the entire series was meeting the King Wally Lewis at the Logies. Lincoln brought him along and I was just genuflecting.”

Series three has already got off to an interesting start with the men getting drunk and accidentally buying a pub.

Julia’s character Gemma is also dealing with the reappearance of her husband Lewis’ ex-wife Belle who is played by the Rachel Griffiths.

“We have such an extraordinary galaxy of superstars throughout series three,” Julia says.

“Obviously, the biggest superstar of all is Rachel Griffiths. We felt incredibly honoured that she chose House Husbands.

“She was terrific to work with. She taught us a lot, even though she wouldn’t have realised that, but it was just by watching the process and seeing how she worked.”

Julia says viewers will have to wait and see how Gemma’s relationship with Belle unfolds but at first, they became unlikely allies against poor Lewis, played by Gary Sweet.

Julia says season three stands alone and viewers who missed the earlier episodes will quickly catch up.

“My husband says all Aussie drama is posh Neighbours, but I think this goes a few steps beyond that.” House Husbands, Channel 9, Mondays at 9pm.
