ouble Grammy awardwinning rapper Nelly says Iggy Azalea shouldn’t be worried about the haters because “at least she’s being talked about’’.

The Come Ride with Me singer, who touched down in Australia last month and headed straight to Martin Place to pay tribute to the Sydney siege victims, says the Mullumbimbyraised singer should take no notice of unfavourable comments by artists including Snoop Dog, Eminem and Azalea Banks.

He reckons Iggy should instead relish the fact people are talking about her.

“Iggy’s my girl and Em (Eminem) is a great artist,” he says.

“Listen, if you are big enough that Eminem is talking about you ... he is mentioning your name.

“She (Iggy) has always been cool with Nelly. I was there when she was getting started and starting her recordings and stuff.”

The US artist was in the country for just two days ahead of his tour featuring Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B, who he is collaborating with to create the ultimate hip hop concert.

Nelly jetted back to the States for Christmas but has returned to our shores for the tour, which kicks off today.

He says Australians could expect a lot more artists to make their way Down Under if it wasn’t for one thing.

“It is a long freaking flight, that is the only reason everyone doesn’t come here. If it wasn’t for that, performers would be here in abundance.’’

When Nelly, Lupe Fiasco and B.o. B take to the stage at Brisbane this weekend, the Country Grammar singer says to expect “nothing less than what they have been getting’’.

“A lot of fun, a lot of energy. As much energy as the crowd brings, you give that back,” he says. Nelly, Lupe and B.o.B, Brisbane Riverstage, Saturday night.
