GCLT is having a Mother’s Day promotion. Instead of chocolates, why not buy mum a gift voucher for a musical or play at any of the performances coming up at the Gold Coast Little Theatre in 2015? The forthcoming musical of Jerry’s Girls would be a sure hit with most mums. She can then go when she wants to and at what time. Mother’s Day gift vouchers are available through the box office and can be emailed in time for that special day. Phone 5532 2096. This year, Bell Shakespeare celebrates 25 years of incredible touring productions and education programs and is worldrenowned for the quality of its shows and teaching skills. This Hamlet masterclass will be designed for adults and senior students, actors, production personnel and those simply intrigued with one of The Bard’s most-produced plays. The Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club will present Lee Gunness tomorrow night at the Paradise Showroom, accompanied by the Caxton Street Jazz Band. Lee is a jazz singer whose voice has frequently been mistaken for that of an AfricanAmerican lady. She has performed in New Orleans and the Edinburgh International Jazz Festival. Book through the

Arts Centre on 5588 4000. Great to hear dancer and hat maker extraordinaire Dennis Watkins is recovering well after a major restructuring of his shoulder. The fabulous headgear you will see in Jerry’s Girls are just some of his creations! The popular GCLT Drinks with the Director will be held at 6pm Tuesday night at the theatre. Director Kate Peters and some of the production team will talk about putting Jerry’s Girls together and also stage one or two items from the show. It’s always a hoot of a night, and an interesting insight of what it takes to get a production from the page on to the stage.
