This sweet fam­ily film tells the tale of an ec­cen­tric chicken farmer, his dog and its un­usual re­la­tion­ship with the fairy pen­guins of Mid­dle Is­land, Vic­to­ria. This true story brings a strong pos­i­tive mes­sage about con­ser­va­tion to young and old. It’s a buddy movie that stars Shane Jacobson, Coco Jack Gillies and Sarah Snook. First-time fea­ture di­rec­tor Stu­art McDon­ald and cin­e­matog­ra­pher Damian Wyvill make the most of the spec­tac­u­lar lo­ca­tions on the Vic­to­rian south coast.

The re­sult is some of the most cel­e­brated can­did photos of Dean, but also in­sights into the life of this hugely tal­ented but im­mensely in­se­cure ac­tor who rep­re­sented some­thing new in Amer­i­can cin­ema and whose death later in 1955, at the age of 24, left him more cel­e­brated than ever.

Hugh Jack­man re­veals he re­ally does have a mean bone in his body when he takes to the screen as Peter Pan’s buc­ca­neer­ing neme­sis. The fan­tasy film is a rol­lick­ing new ori­gin story to the pop­u­lar Peter Pan chil­dren’s fa­ble by Scot­tish nov­el­ist J.M. Bar­rie. Pan is di­rected by Joe Wright ( Atone­ment), and co-stars Rooney Mara ( The Girl With the Dragon Tat­too) as Tiger Lily and Aus­tralian new­comer Levi Miller as Peter Pan.


This mu­si­cal adap­ta­tion star­ring Ron Moody, Sharni Wal­lis and Oliver Reed is about an or­phan who runs away from an or­phan­age and hooks up with a group of boys trained to be pick­pock­ets by an el­derly men­tor. Carol Reed di­rects this clas­sic 1968 film.
