When a Roald Dahl story is adapted for the Murwillumbah stage, you can expect an end product that will appeal to people of all ages
Murwillumbah Theatre Co’s last show for the year, Roald Dahl’s The BFG, (Big Friendly Giant) opens Saturday night and plays until November 1. The BFG is one of Roald Dahl’s most memorable books, adapted for the stage by leading dramatist David Wood. It tells the story of the BFG and little orphan Sophie, who band together to save the children of England from child-eating giants. It features a cast of 23 – with more than half being young people from 10-16 years – and a mother and daughter taking on major roles. murwillumbahtheatre company.com An exciting event is on tonight for all music lovers at the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra Centre at Ashmore. Tim will perform an evening of jazz, blues, intimate ballads and Hollywood favourites at Tyalgum Community Hall. Tim will soon be starring in the third season of TV series A Place To Call Home on Foxtel. As an actor Tim has starred in films opposite the likes of Geoffrey Rush, Judy Davis and Martin Landau. Rumour Has It is the latest triumph at Queensland Theatre Company led by the incredible Naomi Price and her amazing cast/band. The show is fresh, vibrant, and alive. Price takes us on a journey through the award winning singer Adele’s life, and smashes some of her most famous songs out of the ballpark.
