Evicted UK star has warning for presenter Jo Beth, who hits a jungle low-point after a spat with highly caustic Laurina in I’m A Celebrity ...
Jo Beth Taylor must steer clear of the unrepentant Laurina Fleure on I’m A Celebrity ... Get Me Out
Of Here!, says UK choreographer Bonnie Lythgoe.
Lythgoe, who was eliminated on Sunday, says Taylor could be the first contestant to ask to leave if she lets Fleure get under her skin.
Fleure’s ability to grate with other contestants has been evident. On Sunday she had confrontations with Brendan Fevola, Anthony Callea and Val Lehman. Lythgoe says the former
Bachelor contestant doesn’t know how to say sorry and doesn’t understand when she is wrong.
“I got a feeling her upbringing has always been ‘I’m number one and I’m very important and I will have my say whatever’,” Lythgoe says.
“She has just got a mind of her own and I’ve tried so many times to say, ‘Laurina try and be a team member’.
“Nobody likes to be spoken to sometimes, the way Laurina speaks to you. You can’t help but answer back.”
Lythgoe was a sounding board for Taylor, who had a major confrontation with Fleure early in the series about a missing communal camp mirror.
Fleure took the mirror for her own needs. Taylor needed it to remove her contact lenses.
“I fear for Jo Beth. I’m hoping and praying she bounces back. She was very low today and was crying,” Lythgoe says.
“When Jo Beth and I were doing the dishes, Anthony would come and talk to us, so I’m hoping he will talk some good sense into her and make her stay.”
What made Lythgoe think Fleure was self-centred and lacked the ability to identify when she was wrong was her response to taking the mirror. “She didn’t realise it was something she needed to worry about. It was thoughtless,” Lythgoe says.
Lythgoe was eliminated after a three-week stay in camp and, despite being mainly fed rice and beans, she lost only 2.6 kilograms.
She attributed her small weight loss to the fact she only ever has small meals and the rations didn’t effect her as much as some of the others.
