CHARLIE & BOOTS

8.30PM, GEM M. 2009. Reunited by a family tragedy, father Charlie (Paul Hogan) and son Boots (Shane Jacobson) travel from Victoria to Cape York to fulfil their lifelong ambition to fish off Australia’s northern tip. This funny film does a good job of showcasing the Aussie landscape.

THE PROPOSITION

9.30PM, NITV MA. 2005. A lawman apprehends a notorious outlaw and gives him nine days to kill his older brother, or else they’ll execute his younger brother. This Nick Cave penned, atmospheric and ultra gritty Aussie “western” is a home grown film to be proud of. Stars Guy Pearce.

THE SAINT’S VACATION

4AM, 7FLIX PG. 1962. Mercifully brief mystery starring Hugh Sinclair and Sally Gray. The Saint must stop a valuable secret from falling into the wrong hands. This drawn out flick is likely to cure insomnia. Not worth waking up for.

Paul Hogan.
