NACHO LIBRE

8.30PM, ELEVEN PG. 2006. A monk moonlights as a Mexican wrestler in this film that’s sporadically amusing yet at times rather offensive. Director Jared Hess relies on a one-joke concept that doesn’t quite cut it. Stars the turbo-charged Jack Black in the lead and Ana de la Reguera.

THE RECKONING

8.30PM, ONE M. 2014. After his partner is murdered, a detective played by Aussie legend Anthony LaPaglia must track down two teenage runaways who posess video footage that contains the identity of the killer. Also stars Luke Hemsworth and Viva Bianca.

ALEX CROSS

8.30PM, 7FLIX M. 2012. US comic Tyler Perry, little-known here in Australia, inherits the role of criminal psychologist Alex Cross from the timeless Morgan Freeman. Perry makes for a largely uncharismatic leading man and the grimy, sadistic script seems hopelessly outdated. A proper dud.

Jack Black.
