HAPPY AS A PIG
Who doesn’t love Peppa Pig? Aussies have bought more than a million of her books and piles of toys, now they can meet her in the flesh
Peppa Pig is adored among young Gold Coasters, and tomorrow they’ll be able to meet the star swine in person. The preschool entertainment phenomenon is not just a GC favouite, but a worldwide success story. The cute cartoon is now broadcast in more than 180 territories across the US, UK, Europe, Southeast Asia and South America. There is even a theme park attraction called Peppa Pig World in the UK that attracts more than a million visitors each year.
Here Down Under, Peppa Pig is currently the mostwatched kids’ show on TV, seen daily by some 250,000 enchanted young viewers.
Tomorrow though, the kiddies can break away from their screens and bust out of their bedrooms to meet the famed piggie in person.
Following its successful opening around the country last year, Peppa Pig Live! Big Splash is back with a brand new fun-filled show. Bigger puppets and brilliant new sing-a-long songs from the BAFTA award-winning composer Mani Svavarsson are just two of the exciting new additions.
The story follows Peppa’s quest to fix the leaky roof of the nursery with the help of all her buddies. The motley crew decide to hold a fete to raise money so Mr. Bull will come and tend to the repair job.
“We are thrilled that Peppa Pig fans around Australia can’t get enough of this wonderful live show,” producer Anton Berezin says.
Theresa Borg, the show’s resident director, has remounted the production originally presented by UK theatre company Limelight Productions.
“The show is so witty and British that everybody loves it, from our smallest fans to grannies and granddads.”
An all-singing, all-dancing adventure show that’s full of songs, games and muddy puddles – now that’s fun.
