THE DA VINCI CODE
8.30PM, SEVEN M. 2006. A murder inside the Louvre in Paris leads to the discovery of a religious mystery so shocking that it could shake the very foundations of Christianity as the world knows it. A slick but perfunctory film that stars Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou. Try the book instead, if you haven’t read it already.
11PM, NINE M. 2011. You’re usually in pretty reliable hands when Clint Eastwood is sitting pretty in the director’s chair, but like fellow Oscar-bait The Iron Lady, this is a three-star film with a fivestar performance from its leading light Leonardo DiCaprio. Also stars the lovely Judi Dench.
9PM, 7FLIX MA. 2008. A slick, actionpacked popcorn flick with witty performances from Angelina Jolie, who plays an expert assassin, as well as James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman. The cast helps to distract from the absurdly over-the-top plot.
