COOL RUNNINGS

7PM, 7FLIX PG. 1993. The true story of four Jamaicans planning to compete as bobsleigh racers at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Alberta, Canada. This is a popular, true life, underdog tale that stars funnyman John Candy amongst other funnymen, including Doug E. Doug. Good times for the whole family.

THE GREY

10.30PM, SEVEN MA. 2011. The captivating Liam Neeson heads up this exciting tale of survival, which is made all the better thanks to its truly convincing characters and a surprising philosophical agenda that weaves throughout it. Quality Saturday night viewing.

THE WORDS

8.35PM, SBS M. 2012. The performances throughout this film are the standout, particularly Jeremy Irons as The Old Man. And as J.K. Simmons appears as a rather unnecessary character, it’s funny how you suddenly wish the whole movie was about him.

Doug E. Doug.
