KUNG FU PANDA

6.30PM, 9GO! PG. 2008. An obese panda is chosen as the saviour of his village. While the message here is well worn, the lovely humour, exciting martial arts action and vibrant animation makes for a winning combo perfect for a quiet Sunday night in front of the telly with the kids.

DAVE CHAPPELLE’S BLOCK PARTY

9.30PM, NITV M. 2005. A raucous return to the spotlight for the hilarious Dave Chappelle, who presents a Brooklyn neighbourhood with its very own, once-in-a-lifetime, free block party. It’s carried by witty, infectious humour and outstanding musical performances from the likes of The Fugees, Kanye West and Dead Prez.

RAMBO

10PM, 7MATE MA. 2008. While Sly sure does know how to stage action sequences, this film’s confusing pace and excessively over-the-top violence (even for this gory franchise) is more nauseating than entertaining.

Kung Fu Panda.
