NOTTING HILL

8.30PM, SEVEN M. 1999. The simple life of a bumbling bookshop owner changes dramatically when a beautiful celebrity enters his shop. A fanciful romcom starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, who give such charming performances that this won’t be the only time you watch Notting Hill.

ALONG CAME POLLY

8.30PM, ELEVEN M. 2004. A jilted nerd played by Ben Stiller embarks on a treacherous relationship with a wacky ex school mate, portrayed by the gorgeous Jennifer Aniston. Gorgeousness aside, this flick is a pretty miserable misfire.

FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS

9.35PM, 9GO! MA. 2011. They try to avoid Hollywood rom-com-style cliches, but Dylan and Jamie soon discover adding sex to their friendship leads to complications. This screwball comedy is better than its central theme of sex without commitment implies. Playful and funny.

Hugh Grant.
