old Coast Little Theatre director Rob Horton is approaching his forthcoming production of Lady Windemere’s Fan a little differently – Steampunk style. This is a classic by Oscar Wilde, one of his first social comedies. A society woman believes her husband is having an affair, a misconception that may have dire personal consequences for all involved. A biting satire on the morals of society, one of the best-known lines of the play sums up the central theme: “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars”. The show opens 8pm on September 2 and runs until September 17. Book by calling 5532 2096 or via GCLT’s website. Spotlight Theatre is currently playing the musical Nine to Five. Directed by Jamie Watt, it’s a tight, pacy show, with excellent leads. It’s nice to see Tamara Hamilton (nee Pooley) back on stage. Based on the film of the same name, the show features a large cast and excellent choreography. It runs until August 19. Call 5539 4255 to book.
