MILLSY TO TAKE CHARGE
The versatile Aussie song and dance man has signed up for the prestigious role of MC for the glittering Gold Coast Area Theatre Awards
This column comes to you from Vancouver, a city brimming with culture – from the many theatres with world-class opera, ballet and theatre productions, to many local community offerings. There’s also a fabulous midcity green area in Stanley Park. What a huge advantage to the Gold Coast would it be to have a “city lungs” park like this one! Maybe the Spit could be transformed into an oasis. There’s news from back home, where the Gold Coast Area Theatre Awards will welcome a new MC for this year’s presentation night – popular song and dance man Rob Mills. Currently touring the country with Puttin’ on the Ritz, Rob will headline the sparkling night on December 12. He is replacing regular MC Ian Stenlake, who will be in Brisbane appearing in Mamma Mia. The Awards will enter its 10th year after this event.
