WITH regard to the recent fines placed on three NRL football clubs, the question is “Were medical doctors present to make the decisions to play on?”

If they were, then the NRL chiefs are virtually accusing them of dereliction of duty and malpractice thus leaving the NRL open to action for “defamation of character”. Be very careful.

THANK goodness for this cruise ship terminal proposal finally!

After studying it I whole heartedly support it with the major benefit as I see it being the demarcation of the area that will allow the preservation of the area north of the jetty on the ocean side.

It is apparent by the photo that the Sea World Nara Resort has a huge presence in the western area and it is a credit to them the way they have improved the amenity for the enjoyment of thousands.

The Kombamerri Aboriginal Cultural Centre recently advertised in the Bulletin that it would be an excellent welcome to the many cruise ship visitors to our great city and is a long overdue addition to our tourism offerings. The ASF proposed development to the south of Sea World will complement the area between the Trawlers wharf and Sea World carpark and tidy up the area, as you can see from the aerial photo it will be within an already developed section of The Spit but nowhere near the surf or protected area north of the proposed jetty.

I trust it will have the support of the relevant authorities and allow them to get things rolling.

I WAS with Malcolm McGrath (Your Views, GCB, 22/3) all the way and applauded his rational views on a cruise ship docking facility at the end of a 1200m jetty.

That was until his very last statement “The Broadwater is the perfect spot”. When will people finally understand that the Broadwater is essentially a relatively shallow estuary of the Nerang River, that is unsuitable for today’s huge cruise ships, and which would require prohibitively costly initial and ongoing dredging.

WITH regard to your headline, FBI thumps Trump ( GCB, 22/03) I don’t think so!

The head of the FBI, who gives the impression of being holier than thou, and doesn’t know the words “Yes or No”, says there is an investigation, but won’t reveal the source? Or the leaks?

It seems he and his team are a law unto themselves, that require no explanation to anyone on anything they do!
