Sheeran’s Thrones role

-

ED Sheeran fans can expect a tune from the chart-topping musician during a cameo appearance on hit TV series Game of Thrones.

Sheeran, 26, said he would play a friend of Arya Stark (Masie Williams), after it was confirmed in March he would have a brief stint in the fantasy drama.

“I just do a scene with Maisie,” he told The Hits Radio in the UK.

“I sing a song and then she goes, ‘oh, that’s a nice song’.”

The show’s creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed they chased the Shape of You hit-maker for some time because Williams was a fan.

Sheeran follows fellow musicians Wilko Johnson (formlery of Dr Feelgood), Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol), Will Champion (Coldplay) and Icelandic band Sigur Ros in having cameos in the series

Game Of Thrones returns to Australian screens for its seventh season in July.
