KNOWN as the fashion world’s Oscars, yesterdays’s Met Gala didn’t disappoint when it came to the weird, wild and wonderful.
Themed around Comme des Garcons designer Rei Kawakubo and the Art of In Between, the annual invite-only event — to which tickets are a cool $30,000 US — saw Aussies Miranda Kerr, Rose Byrne, Ruby Rose, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness and Naomi Watts attend.
Rihanna, Rita Ora, Lena Dunham and Katy Perry, who chaired the event, pushed the boundaries in the sartorial stakes. True to form, the world’s most famous sisters – Kylie and Kendall Jenner – took the naked dress look to new heights. More classic looks saw A-listers Gigi Hadid, Jessica Chastain, Kim Kardashian and Karlie Kloss through the party.
