Gold Coast product Walker and 2016 world rugby women’s sevens player of the year Caslick.

Griffith University meanwhile have scored the services of Demi Hayes and national co-captain Shannon Parry.

Walker is excitedly awaiting the opportunity to feature in the NSUS, which will kick off in late August, and hopes to help grow the sport.

“Passing on our experience and our knowledge of the game will help in their development,” she said.

“Also like having us there training with them, they can be really competitive with us and actually see and feel what needs to happen for them to get to the level that they want to get to.”

The 22-year-old was a shadow member of the Australian squad that took gold in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

“Being a part of that definitely has made me more eager to try to earn a spot in the 12 that go on tour,” she said.

“It was definitely an exceptional experience that has moulded and shaped my career.”

Walker said her association with Caslick dates back a decade, with the pair representing Australia in touch football.

“Charlotte and I grew up playing touch together from about 12 years old,” she said.

“She actually got me into sevens so it is cool to be able to play for Bond with her.”

Walker looks forward to working with sevens legend Ben Gollings, who will coach Bond, and hopes his input can propel their side to glory.

“Being the first (series) hopefully it will allow a lot of exposure for the future,” Walker said.

“… Getting that first win of the series would definitely be one to remember.”

There will be four parts to this year’s NSUS: Round 1 at the University of Tasmania in Launceston on August 25-26, Round 2 at Macquarie University in Sydney on September 9-10, Round 3 at the University of Queensland in Brisbane on September 16-17 and Round 4 at Bond on September 29-30.

The University of Tasmania (four) and University of South Australia (three) were the only teams to be allocated more than two national players.
