DV takes cen­tre stage at cinema

amanda.robbe­mond@news.com.au GOLD Coast po­lice sup­ported vic­tims of do­mes­tic and fam­ily vi­o­lence as part of Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Aware­ness month with a pop-up po­lice sta­tion for Chicks at the Flicks, at Event Cin­e­mas, Pa­cific Fair, last night.

They spoke to movie­go­ers about DV aware­ness and raised money for the Do­mes­tic Vi­o­lence Pre­ven­tion Cen­tre. The prizes for a raf­fle were do­nated by shops within the cen­tre.

“The com­mu­nity has re­ally come to­gether to shed light on do­mes­tic and fam­ily vi­o­lence and to let the com­mu­nity know that DV will not be tol­er­ated,” Of­fi­cer in Charge of the Pa­cific Fair Po­lice Beat, Se­nior Con­sta­ble Sarah McGuin­ness said.
