Chiefs ignore mediation bid
CRICKET Australia has not responded to a request for independent mediation in its pay dispute with players.
Australian Cricketers’ Association president Greg Dyer emailed CA chairman David Peever on Friday asking for mediation after months of talks. With contracts to expire on June 30, the absence of a new deal would mean players, including skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner, would miss selection.
Warner yesterday said the players “won’t buckle at all”.
