“I’m pretty sure he has played international sevens for New Caledonia. His family is from New Caledonia.”

Pavlovski will be with Surfers Paradise for the rest of the season and brings assets such as decision-making, speed and versatility, Burton said.

Former Italy Test star Burton had mixed feelings about the five tries to one win over the Pirates, entering the round as the Dolphins’ nearest rival.

“I thought our boys got into our rhythm quickly and got to our structures and kept the pressure on them,” he said.

“We definitely missed three or four opportunities, crossfield kicks that I tried that I just stuffed up but if it had have gone where I wanted it to we would have walked in.”

Despite those missed chances, he was happy they kept a clean sheet outside of conceding a long-range intercept try.

Elsewhere, Helensvale claimed their fourth victory of the season, defeating Palm Beach Currumbin 22-14.
