Harbrow to miss again
JARROD Harbrow will sit out another match after the Suns finalised his penalty for a drink-driving charge.
The veteran defender missed Gold Coast’s victory over Hawthorn at the MCG on Saturday and will also be unavailable for next weekend’s match with Carlton at Metricon Stadium.
Harbrow will also enrol in a Queensland traffic offenders program and has been ordered to donate $5000 to a road trauma and education program.
He has also received a suspended $5000 fine from the club.
The penalty, finalised by Suns chief executive Mark Evans and football manager Marcus Ashcroft, was made in consultation with the player leadership group.
Harbrow, 28, was drinking at his home last Sunday night following the Suns’ victory over West Coast.
He was caught drinkdriving the following morning when he recorded a bloodalcohol reading of 0.108.
Harbrow has been among the Suns’ best players this year and would be the main challenger to Gary Ablett in club champion voting at the halfway point of the season.
