ENTREPRENEURS READY FOR BOND BATTLE ROYAL
GOLD Coast entrepreneurs have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to secure the royal seal of approval for their start-up ideas.
Prince Andrew, the third child of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, will visit Bond University on September 22 to join the judging panel for the Pitch@Palace Australia regional final.
The national winner of the start-up competition, which is open to anyone over the age of 16, will be flown to London in December to pitch their idea at St James’s Palace in the global final.
The Duke of York will talk with Bond students and entrants from Queensland, northern NSW and the Northern Territory about their business ideas. Twelve entrants from the regional finals will be selected for the national final.
“(Pitch@Palace) is designed to support, enhance and add value to start-up and scale-up companies by providing a platform for entrepreneurs and audiences to meet, network and hear the great ideas that are being commercialised and built by the next generation,” Prince Andrew said.
Bond University ViceChancellor Professor Tim Brailsford was ”honoured” to welcome the prince.
“(This) is especially fitting for Bond given our longstanding reputation for innovation and leadership in the entrepreneurial space,” he said.
