Bellamy talks up Glasby

QUEENSLAND bolter Tim Glasby has been backed by master coach Craig Bellamy to rise above scathing NSW criticism of his Origin selection.

Unheralded Melbourne prop Glasby was dismissed as an “NRL Nobody” by NSW media when named in the side.

Bellamy said Glasby’s NRL statistics did not tell the whole story and believed the prop would do the job required.

“He’s just a reliable player,” Bellamy told Triple M radio. “As a player I loved playing with guys you knew what you were going to get out of each week.

“They were consistent, mentally and physically tough and get out each week and get their job done.

“That’s what Queensland have recognised in Tim. His teammates will enjoy playing alongside him.”
