Fitzpatrick on Veteran Theo Bolt locks in target early back for Roar Monaco race
MADI Fitzpatrick scored two goals as the Hockeyroos beat Malaysia 3-0 to start their women’s World League semi-final campaign in Belgium.
Australia scored all three goals through penalty corners in Brussels yesterday, taking the lead after four minutes when Fitzpatrick flicked in.
But the Hockeyroos couldn’t extend their advantage further before halftime despite several chances.
They scored early in third quarter through Fitzpatrick and Georgie Morgan sealed the win near fulltime. STAR goalkeeper Michael Theo has re-signed with Brisbane in a boost for their next A-League campaign.
Theo, 36, has played 166 games and won three titles with the Roar.
The club has also retained defender Avram Papadopoulos’ services for another 12 months after his midseason arrival early this year.
Melbourne-born Papadopoulos played seven games at centre-back during the semi-finalists’ 2016-17 season, providing cover for Luke De Vere and Jade North. JAMAICAN sprinter Usain Bolt will run the 100m in Monaco next month, two weeks before his final world championships in London.

Bolt, the double sprint world record holder who has also amassed 13 world championship medals, will only run the 100m in London in August.
