Myles to run out for reserve side

-

NATE Myles has suffered the ultimate fall from grace with the axed Queensland enforcer to play reserve grade – just a month after appearing in the State of Origin opener.

Myles celebrated one of the finest moments of his career four weeks ago when he overtook Maroons legend Wally Lewis (31 games) by playing his 32nd Origin game.

But Myles has suffered his second consecutive selection blow. Dumped by the Maroons for Origin II, the veteran hardman has been named to play for Melbourne’s feederclub Easts Tigers against Sunshine Coast in the Intrust Super Cup this Saturday.

Former Manly prop Myles completed a mid-season transfer to Melbourne just a fortnight ago but he will be forced to start from scratch at his new club.

Returning from an elbow injury, Myles was overlooked for the Storm’s blockbuster against the Broncos this Friday night and will instead run onto Langlands Park 24 hours later in Tigers colours. Myles’ relegation is evidence the prop will not get a saloon passage to the NRL under Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy.
