Mum’s face hacked in machete attack

Coombabah mum Ingrid Brown will be scarred for life after her face was hacked from mouth to ear in a horrific attack in her own backyard. Ms Brown, 35, and her partner Michael Liddell, 34, were allegedly assaulted by two machete-wielding men in a robbery gone wrong on Saturday.

‘Mattress man’ star of marathon stragglers

Thousands of people cheered Takuya Naguchi to victory at the Gold Coast Marathon on the weekend and there was still fanfare more than four hours later as Damien Rider, 41, finished with a mattress over one shoulder. Rider crossed the finish line just minutes before officials closed the track at 2pm.
