City audit a tall order
HEIGHT limits on The Spit and across the Gold Coast will remain unchanged during a city-wide audit of the region aiming to make regulations simpler.
The Gold Coast City Council is in the midst of creating an online overlay to allow people to easily view their suburb and street to determine what restrictions are in place around development.
Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate said the project was aimed at enforcing current building heights rather than changes.
Cr Tate said as far as council was concerned, the three storey height limit would remain on The Spit.
“While we are doing this height building we are maintaining the status quo,” he said.
