Wu wraps up world effort

AUSTRALIA’S Melissa Wu has wrapped up her world championships campaign with a fifth-placing in the final of the women’s 10m platform.

Wu was the 11th qualifier for Wednesday’s final in Budapest, Hungary and her chances for a first medal looked slim when she was sitting in sixth after her second dive.

She recovered slightly when her next three dives were all scored the fifth- highest of the 12-person field, but she finished more than 21 points outside the top-three.
