-

A GOLD Coast magistrate has told an alleged drug dealer to “get a lawyer”.

William Woods appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday charged with several drug offences.

The court heard the 34year-old was arrested and charged following a police raid at his Upper Coomera home on July 6. Police said they found a significant amount of cannabis and drug paraphernalia at his Fawn Street property.

Magistrate Bernadette Callaghan told Mr Woods to “get a lawyer” as the matter was likely to go to a higher court.

“You’ll have get to a lawyer because they’re pretty serious charges,” she said.

Mr Woods was granted bail on the condition he report to the Coomera Police Station every Monday. He will reappear in the Southport Magistrates Court on August 29.
